Civilization Isn’t Civilized

Civilization isn’t civilized,
It’s the popular kids attacking those they say are despised,
It’s the bullies shoving the nerds in lockers,
It’s the pretentiousness of old farts sitting in their rockers,
I mean no disrespect when I say “screw that crap”,
Let’s get up off this damn fat lap,

Civilization isn’t civilized,
That’s just one of the ways its been disguised,
Oh here allow me to help you,
I will spread the word that just is not true,
We still have taxation without representation,
We just employ great liars in each nation,

Civilization isn’t civilized,
Listen to the progression as it’s surmised,
We still fight wars, there are still slaves,
We shoot, bomb and kill in waves,
Technology removes the innocence of children,
And hides the true motives of mice and men,

Civilization isn’t civilized,
This isn’t just something I hypothesized,
The patriarchy still suppresses femininity,
We still shame girls without virginity,
While praising the studs, stoic and strong,
We still immortalize them in song,

Civilization isn’t civilized,
Are you really that anesthetized?
That unaware of the situation you’re in?
Your predestined inability to win?
Seriously, you still don’t get it,
This can’t be solved with some kind of first aid kit,

Civilization isn’t civilized,
Just because it’s standardized,
That just means we cannot grow,
Or is that just another thing you didn’t know,
Our creativity is stunted from a very early age,
Why aren’t more people full of outrage?

Civilization isn’t civilized,
It isn’t even centralized,
We have borders despite all being the same,
We can’t even innovate a new name,
Mike, Mark, Matt, Miles,
Those are the names that populate our files,

Civilization isn’t civilized,
The belief in that is definitely devised,
By the populars leading us to the end of the world,
Not even waiting as the plan is unfurled,
Like the great American Bison was killed on the plains,
Soon we will be just rotting remains,

Civilization isn’t civilized,
It’s just something that was improvised,
Unsustainable by very nature,
Implied by simple nomenclature,
Listen, it’s time for a change,
Let’s come together and rearrange.

HEY READ THIS IF YOU HAVE SKILLS:

The kinds of skills I am looking for are in the fields of technology, photography, 2D art, 3D art, writing (all kinds), web design, coding, and accountability. If you have any of these skills and want to share them and maybe make some money shoot me a FB message, a text, a carrier pigeon, or an email.

Today In Stats: Removing Bias

Today in my AP Statistics class I learned something truly fantastic. "We have to acknowledge the differences between people to remove bias." The quote was in reference to giving surveys and making sure that the results aren't swayed by certain demographics having disproportionate representation. Imagine if we applied this logic to other situations. By acknowledging the differences that we have with each other we would be able to work past them and grow as a species rather than trying to pretend we are all equal when we clearly aren't. We are simply too different to be.

Bullying Is Terrible Pt. 1

In order to properly fight bullying there are a few things that need to be done.  It is the responsibility of the authority and the obligation of the student to cause change in school.  The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.  When seen, it should be reported, when heard about, it should be reported, even if it is just suspected, it should be reported. There should be, and is, an easy way to do this. People can take their teachers aside, tell their parents, email administrators, and so many other things; hell, someone could use a carrier pigeon if it so pleases them. In order for us to change this cycle of violence we need to stop the people who are committing these acts. They need to be punished.

If Jerks Told The Truth Pt. 1

When people say things like, "Haters are my motivators," it just makes them more motivated. At least that's the logical progression between them saying things like that and people having a natural reaction. They hate them. And as more people hate them they are motivated to probably continue repeating that line thus repeating the cycle. Those people, the one's that say things like that, they could rule the world.

Prose: A Sticky Note

Itch, scratch, itch, scratch,
Letter, match, letter, match,
Find the things you seek and need,
Give yourself what you need to feed,
I require the words of men,
Scribbles, scrabbles, what then?
Pictures, stories, moments suspended,
Far surviving though it's time has ended,
Ink, blood, tales flood my ears,
Tales of my fears,
Fire, burning the houses and,
Books thrown out by king's demand,
Interesting it is to be a page,
Infinite possibility in any age,
White, yellow, light, mellow,
Even if I am only used for a nice polite hello.

Some Fashion Prose - Circa 2014 Academic Year

Flashing cameras surround the space where art is worn.  It paces up and down the stage with passion in the air. Love, hate, lust fills the room as piece after piece strides, turns, and strides. Heels clicking against the hard dark ground show different different bases for different looks. Each unique piece more beautiful then the rest.  Strut, look the part; nothing has to be real. Human mannequins and nothing more that much is known for sure. The music reverberates around the room and each foot is forced to tap or stride.  Too much hair, not enough makeup, too much material, not enough attitude. Remember to say nothing, don't smile, just strut. Show off it's all you can do, don't fall.
Queue fog machine and champagne; none for the art, too many calories and they may spill. Mind over matter, whatever you don't mind will make you fatter.  Do what I tell you, I will help you move into the industry, you can trust me.  I promise I won't let you down, you mean more to me then just your age and looks. Don't worry, I know the contract ends when you turn 22, but I promise we will draft another one then. Sheesh.
